Something borrowed, something new?
- C. J. Black.
I don’t seem to have it in me to write poetry
Tonight I’m going to prove myself wrong – how hard can it be?
A well-crafted design from this poet
Poetry doesn’t come with a road map – another myth – I’ve blown it?
Irrational thought, leaping from one thought to the next
Continue writing, all will eventually fall into context
When this happens, come celebrate the mystical experience –
Of words meandering – intelligence?
The beauty of being left to your own devices
Corresponds with you having a sack load of choices
This inevitably leads to you writing to satisfy your soul
Never allow I don’t have it in me on you take its toll.
It needn’t be spectacular, write the poem to prove a point –
To yourself, yes I am going to be compliant
Write this poem, then be content
That you can yourself compliment.
