Seasons Greetings.

To all my friends who kept in contact throughout the year whether it was through WordPress, Twitter, Tumbler, Facebook, Sound Cloud & You Tube thank you. I am taking a break from all things techno for the Christmas season, hopefully to return in the New Year full of vim and vigour. I take this opportunity to wish you all you wish yourselves, have a safe and peaceful journey through the season of good will.

Girl with a Pearl Earring.

Johan Vermeer

Born in the Netherlands in October 1632

His painting, Girl with a Pearl Earring

is something to behold

of its natural beauty

the whole world should be told.

A Vermeer masterpiece is what it is classed

Its natural beauty, will it ever be surpassed?

Johan Vermeer a natural talent by all accounts

Taking his work slowly at all times

Taking ultimate care

Never did get the deserved recognition while alive.

At the time of his passing

His family were barely able to survive.

Vermeer passed away on the 15th December 1675

In Delft.

The beauty of his paintings will keep his name alive.

What attracted me to this artists work?

its naturalness

abstract for me holds no attraction.

Of course everyone to their own

beauty as they say is in the eye of the beholder.

Vermeer captures this at all times

whether its The Girl with the Wine Glass

The Astronomer

His thirty plus recognised paintings

each one a thing of beauty.

Colleen’s Weekly #Tanka #Poetry Prompt Challenge #12 – Peace & Spirit

Word Craft Poetry

Happy Tuesday everyone! Welcome to the TANKA CAFÉ and your weekly prompt post. Are you ready to get groovy with your poetry? Then, you’re in the right place! Pull up a chair, order some coffee or tea and let’s write some TANKA poetry.

(Please note: I changed my blog name and address to will be dropped in the next few months).

A spot of tea, anyone? Grab a cup of Joe and read what’s below…

I have received many questions about how to write a Tanka poem.

It is worth taking a moment to check the best way to create a Tanka.

Tanka poems are based on syllable structure much the same way a Haiku is written in the 5/7/5 format.

The Tanka form is easy to create: 5/7/5/7/7 and is a Haiku with two extra…

Trumpets blast

jpoet7/Joseph Black Photography

Trumpets blast, but will it last.

Fear now fills the halls of power

An oligarch has left his tower

Spread the wealth among his friends

Regardless who he must offend.

Can the world survive this fate

Major powers he’ll isolate

Without the blue just red and white

Steals like a thief into the night.

Like many leaders gone before

Who on a pedestal did roar

A man of peace came laid his hand

He found his power built on quicksand.

Sweet Beatitude – #MusicandMuseMonday – #Spiritual #Poetry

Sweet Beatitude

Seraphim upon the wing

Descending and Ascending

With the Harmonious Joy they Bring

Lullaby of Delicate Night

Miracle of Angelic Light

Hearken to the Majestic Sight

While Choirs of voices Harmoniously Sing

Sweet Beatitude

Gathering All unto its Song

While Darkness tolls, an impending throng;

Tender Mercy Harmoniously Rings

A Sweet Beatitude.

I Can’t Get Me No… Satisfaction

Catch a Falling Star

I am old.  And it is true that I am not as old as the Rolling Stones.  After all, they are living proof that prehistoric fossils can actually still sing.  But I am nearing the end.  My health is rapidly deteriorating.  And while medical technology has advanced worldwide, and is probably the only reason I have lived for 60 years, the cost of that technology to Americans is beyond what I can afford.  I am living now in a house that I saw in my dreams back in college.  In that dream from when I was twenty, I saw myself sitting in an easy chair that is now in this house.   The sky outside was pale orange.  And an angel came to me and said, “This is it.  This is the end.  You must come with me.”

So I am expecting the angel any day now.

But there is…
