I step inside, close the door on the outside world
Time to concentrate the mind
Its Monday the start of a new week
Yet for the writer is not every day the start of a new week
for at all times are we not formulating?
Pondering on what is the next composition
If you are poetically minded
or perhaps where the next chapter is going to lead you
in that blockbuster you are composing.
The news hound sitting, waiting for the phone to ring
with what could be the story to expose him/her
as the next best feature writer.
Take comfort we must that whatever we write
be it fragment or the real deal, will not be flawed
but a jewel stitched to a blank white page.

Yes I agree every day is a writing or thinking writing day, but somehow when it gets to Monday I feel more productive, a bit like Jan 1st…it’s all down hill from there. 🙂

Ahhh, “blank white pages.” The lure of them makes us get up in the morning and the dread of having nothing to fill them with keeps us up at night.the yin and yang of being a writer 🙂
