Everything is relevant

In order to capture this fleeting moment-

Unearthing someone’s life’s treasures

Reflecting on times past

As we rummaged through old biscuit tins

Newspaper clippings dating back to the 1930’s

Revealing snippets of what life was like outside the pail

Handwritten notes posted from military bases

Death notices

Letters from distant relations in far off USA

They didn’t always relate to good news stories

That musty smell

The silence emanating from those old biscuit tins

Tell of the real truth

Connoisseurs, they may well have claimed to be

Looking back from the year of discovery

A different tale emerges.
