It’s a Happy Monday.

Do you feel like you left motivation behind you in the bed?

Even though you’re on your own, is there someone crowding your space?

Is Black Dog barking loudly?

Do you feel pressurised to change just to please others?

Bin that consideration, you’ll just exhaust yourself.

Step out with confidence into a brand new week

Be yourself no matter what

Try not to associate yourself with the –

I don’t like Mondays club.

Around the globe make it Happy Monday day.

Cherished memories.

Soft and beautiful to the touch

Yes, touch has a memory

You were once a babe in arms

Too soon you stepped off this stage.

Too young they said

Who were they to pass remark?

I’m the one left grieving

You bore your illness with dignity

You fooled many

I played along, could not deny you?

We had our quarrels you and I

Yet you never held a grudge

As you lay at my feet each night.

I watched you grow from playful pup

A tail wag always told its own story.

An Easter Sunday message.

To those world leaders

You know who you are

Do you ever stop and consider-

The consequences of your actions?

Or is this power trip you are on

Way above that?

Why not bring those egos into a room

Sit down, place your cards on the table

Think about where your present actions

Are leading.

It is never too late to offer the hand of peace

A lot more will be thought of you

Innocent lives will be saved

The peoples of the world will

It is hoped

Learn from actions of peace

To follow in your path.

Economies will be allowed flourish

Blood will not be spilled, oil will flow.

Draw up your hopes for a safer world.

The Pen is Mightier than the Sword.

The stone the builders rejected

Has become the corner stone.

(Psalm 117:22)

Concentrate rather on what is said than what is seen.

Let your words not fall on stony ground.

Tuesday, Mount Wolseley.

In the library of genius authors-

Awaking to these words

He means to make much of this poem

The least significant part of this dream

Is the enquiring mind on how to proceed

Starting out on its journey

It is in the control of the composer

Watching them,

The wheels that move slowly then gather speed

So it becomes with the thought process

Several scars are left on each page

As indentations are made

There is amusement

Must be amusement

Do you think this poem can be written

Without vision becoming blurred.

He questions himself-

What is your role in relation to this poem?

The last few words probably sum up the poets

Relationship to this poem.

Meaningful dialogue?

Sit there, get bombarded with a hail of words

Once they are soft and meaningful

They will be gathered to the breast

If they are hurtful

They will be scattered to the four winds

Utterances can be

Hurtful, hateful, despising, surprising

embracing, disgracing, enveloped, developed.

Fired from a Tommy-gun mouth

Words can be distasteful, disrespectful put downs.

Thoughts brought to mind relaxing, sitting pool-side

While other couples were not it appeared-

worried who was within ear shot.

(c) Chris Black 2017.

If I had.

If I had the memory of an elephant or computer

I would willingly converse.

Being of a certain vintage

Now I must think of what I wish to say

Then to myself rehearse.

If I had

If I had the time or inclination

Possibly I could hold a full blown conversation

If I had the time and inclination that is.

If I had

If I had the memory of a computer or an elephant

I could carry on an intelligent, informed conversation

Built brick on verbal brick.

If I had

If I had words at will I might write proper poetry?

If I had

If I had not thought of this I may have instead

written something fiendishly funny?

Fear the future

jpoet7/Joseph Black Photography

Fear the future
I fear the fuse is getting short

While we are praying for support.
One man governs now with tweets

Unrest is spilling on the streets.
A fearful shiver down my spine

See refugees along the Rhine.
Their villages the bombs do pummel

Homes and schools now turned to rubble.
The world sits now upon the brink

Can we survive or will we sink.
For now the UN must police

Come together and broker peace.
Fears are that it is all too late

We sit for hours in this debate.
Do they listen or even care

Radical, fanatical, doctrinaire.
